Ondy Willson

Ondy Willson is a writer and internationally acclaimed mindfulness/meditation teacher.

Her lifetime practice of meditation and inner management techniques makes her an excellent and warm-hearted guide on the challenging path of taming one’s mind.

Who is Ondy?

Ondy has been studying mind-training techniques since the 1970s. Her commitment to good psychology is based on her own training, for over 30 years, from experts in the field of meditation and mindfulness.

She was Head of Belief, Philosophy and Ethics in a large comprehensive school, and contributed to primary and secondary school educational books on moral issues. She delivers Mind Training focusing on Mindfulness, Emotional Intelligence and Ethics both nationally and internationally.

What can Ondy offer you?

MBMT is a unique training modality that Ondy created by blending Buddhist psychology with contemporary psychological systems that promote mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

Through her extensive study and practice of Buddhism, and the development and experience of her work with a variety of people across all strands of society, she recognised that much of Buddhist psychology is secular in nature and does not depend on faith based ritual and belief, and is a powerfully beneficial approach to wellbeing. 

Utilising this systematic methodology as a base point she created training packages that are wholly relevant to our lives in a western environment by incorporating self-development and wellbeing techniques that have arisen in current western psychology research and practice. In this way, her work combines ancient wisdom with modern science.

Mindful self-awareness has become widely recognised as a reflective practice found in Buddhist teachings that can help people combat stress and anxiety. It is a powerful starting point for comprehensive courses that support psychological and emotional health that is both sustainable and relevant to our complex and demanding lives. 

For those who want to experience a more personal immersion into mindfulness and emotional intelligence work, Ondy is offering personal counselling sessions over Zoom 

The sessions are tailored to your needs. The basic format for mindfulness coaching is a 45-minute individual session which will include:

  • Personalised guided meditation
  • Talking about your mental and emotional needs and how contemplative practice might help
  • Adjusting your personal practice curriculum in ways that would most support your internal wellbeing

If you want to study mindfulness in greater depth, Ondy can take you through the curriculum of the MBMT (mindfulness-based mind training) programme, gradually developing a wide range of emotional and contemplative skills for good mental hygiene. This is best achieved with regular 1 hour sessions (ideally once a week).

Same types of work, plus more extensive workshops, can be done with organisations and groups. Tell us about your needs and we will tailor a mindfulness course best able to support the learning process. Possible topics include:
